Visit from Berlin: President Horst Köhler

German President Horst Köhler departed yesterday on a five-day trip to China which will include a visit to the Shanghai Expo. Koehler’s visit starts in Beijing, where he is to discuss with Hu Jintao global challenges, including climate change and the financial crisis. The two presidents have met several times during the last five years. On Wednesday the president will attend the Germany Nation Day at Expo, accompanied by his wife and a large delegation of business leaders. Köhler will visit the German Pavilion, which is one of the most favored locations on the World Expo. In course of the German Nation Day the Berlin Band “2Raumwohnung” and the band “Nobelpenner” from Hamburg will rock the Expo with popsongs from Germany.
