Welcome to the BERLIN SQUARE at EXPO 2010

The creative scene of Berlin shows its face and enters the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai with an amazing performance. From 1 – 5 June 2010 Berlin presents his creative excellence throughout all disciplines as part of the GERMAN PAVILION “BALANCITY”:  Be it music, film, fashion design or street art – the BERLIN SQUARE will show a representative cross-section of Berlins creative scene.

On an area with more than 6000 sqm including a large stage, the visitors of the EXPO 2010 will get in touch with the creative aspects of Germany’s capital. In addition to the sensational gigs of Berlin bands like JEANS TEAM and KISSOGRAMM a interactive exhibition will highlight the BERLIN SQUARE. A performance installation with constantly moving cubes represents the complex and agile character of Berlins creative scene.

The whole BERLIN SQUARE team is dressed in fancy outfits individually tailored by students of the ESMOD fashion school. Furtermore the performance will be supported by friendly PICTOPLASMA characters and live action painting performances by the Berlin based HIPHOP HEADQUARTER.

Above all that the film project CITYCODES and the exhibition CLOSE YOUR EYES AND SEE, which can be seen at the nearby German Pavillion, complete the Berlin Days to be a very exceptional appearance at the EXPO 2010.
